GCS has developed a wide portfolio of technologies to serve RFIC/MMIC, Power Electronics and Optoelectronics industries.
GaAs Technologies
Serving the RFIC/MMIC industry, GCS offers a broad portfolio of process technologies such as InGaP HBT, InP HBT, pHEMT, HFET, GaN HEMT, THz Mixer, Varactor, RF PIN diodes, BAW, and Integrated Passive Devices (IPD) to enhance our customers’ product performance and market competitiveness. A family of InGaP HBT processes are in production, each tailored to provide an optimum performance (high power and superior linearity) for a unique application in the cellular handset, wireless communication and base station markets. In 2021, two (2) new HBT processes, SD2 & SPD, with very high fmax (150 GHz), were added to the foundry process portfolio to address the high-frequency applications, up to 40 GHz.
Several GaAs HEMT foundry processes are also in production for applications from low cost handset switches, PAs and LNA up to 40GHz, to high linearity and high power PAs.
InP HBT Technologies
For very high speed mixed-signal ICs for test instruments and and 40-100G Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) for optical fiber communication applications, two generations (5 processes) of InP HBT technologies have been in production with Ft from 180 GHz to 330 GHz. Superior performance has been demonstrated by customers and several has been in production since 2007.
GaN/SiC HEMT Technologies
For GaN/SiC technology, GCS offers 0.4, 0.25um, and 0.15um process nodes, The processes have been qualified for 28 and 48V operations. In addition, GCS also offers GaN/Si foundry process for low voltage (3.6 – 10V) mobile application. Besides open foundry service, we also support captive process with customized epi structures. Please check with the foundry for your special requirement.
BAW Technologies
GCS is one of the few pure-plan foundries in the world that offers BAW foundry service. High-performance resonators are available for engineers to design BAW filters for different applications. Several foundry processes with a variety of materials (AlN, ScAlN with different Sc content) are offered to allow design flexibility to address different communication bands.
Optoelectronics Technologies
GCS has developed a wide range and comprehensive process module technologies in our 4” volume RFIC/MMIC production line to enable capabilities of manufacturing of numerous optoelectronics/photonics devices ranging from single photodiode (PD), PD array, laser, APD, VCSEL to complex monolithically-integrated photonics ICs.
